Happy Easter, all :)

You know, what really annoys me about religious festivals is how commercialised they've become. No longer is Christmas about the birth of Christ, but about how many presents you're going to recieve this year, and how much money you're going to spend on which member of your family. No longer is Lent about Christ's suffering for 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness, being tempted by the Devil, but about giving up some pointless habit for as long as possible, and if you give in after one day then so be it, you don't try and carry on. No longer is Easter about Christ's crucifixtion and resurrection, but about chocolate eggs and bunny rabbits.

Being a regular church goer, I see how the numbers attending my own parish church fluctuates through the year. Numbers start to build up a couple of weeks before a major festival - so people don't look like they only go once or twice a year to church. However, they also die down again a couple of weeks afterwards. It's a shame. I don't say everyone should believe in God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I'm saying the children of this country should be as well educated in our own national religion (for we are a Christian nation) as they are in Islam, Judaism and Hinduism.

All religion has a place in our society, but Christianity is fast losing its place, because it's uncool to go to church, to be proud of your beliefs.

My boyfriend's an Atheist. I'm a church going Church of England Christian. If we can make it work, why can't other people? It's called a compromise. He understands my need for religion. I understand why he can't believe in it. And I love him as much as I love my God. I love both as much as I love my family.

Never be ashamed of your beliefs. They are what define you. Lose your beliefs and morals, and you lose yourself.

Happy Easter.

Hi!

Ok, here goes. I think this weeks' blog's going to be a warning to all those thinking the title's a joke.

I get very irritated with modern life. I therefore let off steam by ranting and raging at anyone who happens to come my way. I don't actually enjoy doing this. So, I decided: write a blog about how life has pee'd me off this week. Maybe that way my friends will avoid being told off.

So, you're probably thinking I'm weird. You'd be right in thinking that. I am weird. But still, comparatively normal if you're looking at some of my friends. One of whom has a video blog. One entry is purely him going through a pack of offcuts of card and telling the camera the colour of it. I swear I won't be reduced to doing that. Promise :)

Anyway, I can't predict what I'll be ranting about week by week, but I'll try and add some variety (after all, variety is the spice of life!), since I'm sure you won't want to be moaned at about the same thing week by week. I will try and be upbeat sometimes :) This may be easier said than done, though...I'm a very negative person.

Feel free to feed the fish (see right)!

Feel free to visit my other blog too (not updated that recently, on account of having exams and driving lessons and so on to deal with) at: http://www.writinghunter.blogspot.com/
